Wedding Photography in Herefordshire
Wedding Photography Penyard House. The more I look at this fabulous couple’s photos, the more I love everything about their day. It’s wonderfully casual, massively fun and full of the best homemade touches by talented friends and family. For Tony and Tamsin’s wedding, I’d travelled to fantastic Penyard House near Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire. Tamsin looked stunning in wearing a fabulous red dress and birdcage veil.
Below, Tamsin tells us more about their special day…
Please tell us a little about yourselves.
We met about 8.5 years ago but were friends for around 6 months before we became a couple. We met on a dance floor and if I am honest I thought he fancied my mate – turned out I was wrong. The wedding was actually booked before there were any proposals and then proposed to each other in Paris. Tony proposed to me up the Eifel Tower at minus 3 degrees, he did not stay down on one knee very long!
How would you describe the spirit of your day
Our day was informal and fun, it turned out exactly as I had wanted with no stress and just relaxed with everyone getting on with each other and enjoying a good drink and a dance.
How did you decide on the venue of your wedding and/ or your reception?
The venue was a bit of a fluke, we were staying locally for my Mum’s birthday and as we were driving around we were writing down the names of each place we passed. We looked online at them all and found Penyard House, it was perfect.
What was the best moment(s) of your wedding day?
I loved all of my wedding day, but there was one point on the dance floor when I looked around me and there was just a circle of people around me all with air guitars and I thought this is exactly what I wanted!
What style was your wedding dress and who was it by?
I had my dress made by a friend of a friend as I could not get what I wanted in a shop. I was very keen to have a red wedding dress and that it should have a high low hem. My skirt actually had a long skirt over a short skirt and the long skirt was detachable. I think I first designed a wedding dress with this feature when I was about 16!
What did the groom and ushers wear?
The boys looked very smart in suites. The groom and the best man matched but the others had ties and buttonholes to link the outfits.
What was the title of the song for your first dance? Why did you choose that particular song?
We chose Human by the Killers. This song was played a lot when we first met and I got Tony an iPod for our first Xmas together with “are we human or are we dancer” engraved on the back.
Where are you planning to go, or where did you go, for your honeymoon. What made you choose that place
We had a few days relaxing in Kos and are planning a longer honeymoon in the new year. For the long honeymoon, we are aiming towards South East Asia.
What tips would you give to other couples when planning their wedding day?
Don’t over complicate it, try not to put yourselves into debt for it and do what you can yourselves to make it more personal. Make yourselves an action plan and stick to it and have super organised bridesmaids.
This is the second time I have booked Jeff for a wedding, which is a testimonial in itself. The first time I booked him was on behalf of a friend, and I received his details from a personal recommendation, and the second time was for my own wedding. I really like the way Jeff deals with people, he is easy going and flexible but gets the best out of his subjects and his shots. His service is relaxed but professional and we got the pictures back in really good time and are having a lot of fun going through them. The photos really are exceptional and we love how they have turned out.
Congratulations Tammy and Tony. It was a real pleasure photographing your wedding. Sending you lots of love and wishing you both a wonderful life together. Jeff
